Is the estimation (kharas) of date palm fruit permissible?

The estimation (kharas) of the fruit of date palms is permissible because the fruit is gathered together in clusters on the palm, allowing for an estimation to be performed upon it. Furthermore, there is a pressing need for the owners to consume these dates while they are still fresh (rutubah). This view is attributed to Malik.
