When is it especially recommended to give charity abundantly?

It is recommended to increase the giving of charity during times of need, based on the verse: "Or feeding on a day of severe hunger" (Quran 90:14). It is also particularly recommended during the month of Ramadan because good deeds are multiplied therein, and it assists in fulfilling the obligatory fast. Whoever breaks the fast of a fasting person shares in his reward.
