Primary text

If both exact required animal types are missing or defective, the owner may substitute them with compensation. If the requirement was for Hiquq, the owner may give four Jadh'ah and receive eight sheep or eighty Dirhams in return, or the owner may pay five Bint Makhad and include ten sheep or one hundred Dirhams.

Supporting text

It is not permissible to transition from Hiquq to Bint Labun, or from Bint Labun to Jadh'ah, using compensation because Hiquq and Bint Labun are explicitly mentioned for this specific wealth type. Therefore, one cannot move upward to Hiquq or downward to Bint Labun using compensation.
