Primary text

The ruling on compensation allows the owner, in cases where compensation is due (e.g., receiving two sheep or twenty Dirhams), to offer a combination of one sheep and ten Dirhams, as the sheep is taken as equivalent to ten Dirhams. This position is held by the Qadi.

Supporting text

An alternative view prohibits offering a combination of one sheep and ten Dirhams because the Prophet (peace be upon him) provided the choice between two sheep or twenty Dirhams, making the combination a third option that contradicts the explicit Hadith.
