Is it permissible for a woman to adorn herself with ornaments typically reserved for men?

It is forbidden (*muharram*) for a woman to adorn herself with ornaments that are not appropriate for her gender, such as the ornamentation of a sword or a belt. Zakat is obligatory upon these items, analogous to the ruling if a man were to wear women's ornaments.
