Who owes Zakat on the price if the sales contract is nullified due to the destruction of the sold item?

If the sales contract is nullified because the sold item is destroyed, or because the item specified in the advance payment contract (*salam*) becomes impossible to deliver, the price must be returned. Zakat on that price is obligatory upon the seller.
