Is a person entitled to reclaim excess property taken by a collector (*Sa'i*) beyond the legally prescribed amount without valid justification?

If the collector takes more than the fixed due without any permissible interpretation (ta'wil), such as taking two sheep instead of one, the person from whom it was taken may only reclaim the amount exceeding the obligatory due. This ruling is based on establishing the limit of the obligation.
