What is the ruling if one or more units of the *Nisab* (minimum threshold for Zakat) are lost or usurped, resulting in a reduction of the *Nisab*?

The ruling is the same as if the entirety of the *Nisab* were lost or usurped. If we rule that Zakat is obligatory, the person must pay Zakat on the amount currently in their possession. If the lost or usurped portion returns, Zakat must then be paid for that returned portion, just as if the entirety had returned.
