What is the ruling regarding Zakat if the husband divorces the wife after the passing of one year but before the Zakat payment is made?

If the husband divorces the wife after the year has passed but before the Zakat is paid out, he cannot claim the Zakat payment from the dower amount itself. This is because the husband's right attached to the dower on the basis of partnership, but the Zakat liability did not attach to it on the basis of partnership. Instead, the Zakat must be paid from other wealth, or the remaining dower must be divided between them, and then the Zakat is paid from her share.
