There is a narration from Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, stating that if one receives rent from a property that reaches the *nisab*, Zakat must be paid immediately upon receipt.
Supporting text
This narration is interpreted by some scholars to mean that the full year for Zakat calculation had already passed before the actual receipt of the rent.
