Primary text

If the sale is deemed valid with the condition of harvest, the purchaser owes Zakat on his share of the fruit, provided that share reaches the minimum threshold (nisab).

Supporting text

If the purchaser is not obligated to pay Zakat, such as a Mukatab (a slave who has contracted for his freedom) or a Dhimmi (non-Muslim citizen), then Zakat is not due from him for this fruit.
