Is Zakah due on prohibited gold or silver vessels?

Chapter on Zakat on Gold and Silver

Primary text

If the vessels are proven to be prohibited, Zakah is due upon them, with no scholarly disagreement on this point, provided they reach the minimum taxable threshold (*nisab*) by weight, or when combined with other gold or silver holdings. If the value increases due to craftsmanship, that added value is disregarded because the item is prohibited and thus holds no legal value in Sharia. The owner must pay one-quarter of one-tenth (*zakah*) based on the metal's value as unworked material.

Abu Al-Khattab presented an alternative opinion suggesting that the value including craftsmanship should be considered, but the first position is considered more correct.
