Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory for the master concerning his present, non-contracted slave. The general consensus of the scholars dictates this obligation for the master concerning his present slave, the one whose property was usurped (maghsoub), the runaway slave (aabiq), and slaves intended for trade. This is established because the master possesses them, and this obligation mirrors that owed for present dependents.
