Zakat is forbidden for the wives of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). This is indicated by the action of Khalid ibn Said ibn al-As, who sent a gift of charity to Aisha, and she returned it, stating, "We, the family of Muhammad (PBUH), charity is not permissible for us."
