Does breaking the fast while traveling during the intermediate period of an expiation fast invalidate the required sequence?

If a person travels during Ramadan which intervenes in a required expiation fast and breaks the fast, the required sequence for the expiation is not broken. This is because the period of travel is one during which fasting is not owed for the Kaffarah, so breaking the fast then is analogous to breaking the fast during the night, which does not interrupt the sequence.
