Is comparing one's wife to the hair, tooth, or nail of one's mother considered Zihar (conjugal comparison)?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Zihar
Primary text
The utterance where a man compares his wife to the hair, tooth, or nail of his mother does not constitute Zihar. This is because these specific parts (hair, tooth, nail) are not considered the established limbs or parts of the mother from which Zihar is derived, and divorce cannot be attributed to them by addition. Therefore, Zihar is not established.
