Primary text

If the illness permits breaking the fast but is not life-threatening, there are two opinions. The first is that the sequence is not broken because the illness is a licensed reason for breaking the fast, similar to a life-threatening illness. The second is that the sequence is broken because the individual chose to break the fast, thus terminating the sequence as if the break was without valid excuse.
