Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 2:185

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Ma’mar, from Yazid, from Ibn Abi Layla: That a man asked him, saying: "I entered the mosque and its people had already prayed. Should I call the adhan?" He said: "You have been spared that."
