Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 2:227

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid narrated to us, from al-Rabi’ ibn Sabih, he said: Abu Fatimah—a man who had met the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace—informed me, he said: Ibn Mas’ud said: "If I were a caller to prayer (mu'adhdhin), I would not care if I did not perform Hajj or go on a military expedition."
