Hadith 32:12
Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Mughith ibn Sumayy, who said: There was a man who used to worship in his hermitage for about sixty years. He said: Then it rained for the people, so he looked out from his hermitage and saw the pools of water and the greenery. He said: "If only I went down and walked and looked." So he did. While he was walking, he met a woman and spoke to her. He did not cease speaking to her until he had intercourse with her. He said: So he placed a bag he had with him, in which there was a loaf of bread, and he went down into the water to perform ghusl (ritual washing), and his appointed time of death arrived. A beggar passed by, so he (the man) gestured toward the loaf of bread, and the man died. His deeds for sixty years were weighed, and his sin outweighed his deeds. Then the loaf of bread was placed (on the scale), and it outweighed (the sin), so he was forgiven.
