Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 32:6

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from Abu Musa, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The hand of Allah is outstretched by night so that the evildoer of the day may repent, and by day so that the evildoer of the night may repent, until the sun rises from its place of setting."
