Hadith 24:1
Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Malik said: Shaqiq entered upon al-Hajjaj, and he said: "What is your name?" He said: "The Amir did not send for me until he knew my name." He said: "I want to seek your assistance in some of my work." He said: "I fear for my own soul." So he asked to be excused, and he excused him. He said: When he went out from him, he stood up saying: "Thus is our departure." He said: Al-Hajjaj said: "Direct the old man, direct the old man."
حدثنا حسين بن علي قال قال عبد الملك دخل شقيق على الحجاج فقال ما اسمك قال ما بعث إلي الأمير حتى علم اسمي قال اريد أن أستعين بك على بعض عملي قال فقال إني أخاف نفسي فاستعفاه فأعفاه قال فلما خرج من عنده قام وهو يقول هكذا انبعاثنا قال فقال الحجاج سددوا الشيخ سددوا الشيخ
