Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, he said: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, who said: Qays ibn Sa'd ibn Ubadah said: "Were it not that a man would have to deceive until he commits wickedness, I would have deceived the people of Ash-Sham with a deception that would have kept them in turmoil from the day until the night."
