Hadith 24:44
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Isma'il narrated to us, from Ziyad, who said: When Uthman wanted to flog al-Walid, he said to Talha, "Stand up and flog him." He said, "I am not one of the floggers." So Ali stood up to him and flogged him. Al-Walid began saying to Ali, "I am the companion of Makina." He said: I said to Ziyad, "And what is 'the companion of Makina'?" He said: "A woman he used to talk about."
حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال حدثنا إسماعيل عن زياد قال لما أراد عثمان أن يجلد الوليد قال لطلحة قم فاجلده قال إني لم أكن من الجلادين فقام إليه علي فجلده فجعل الوليد يقول لعلي أنا صاحب مكينة قال قلت لزياد وما صاحب مكينة قال امرأة كان يتحدث بها
