Hadith 24:62
Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ja’far, from his father, from Ali ibn al-Husayn, who said: [A man] from the sons of Uthman narrated to me, saying: Ali sent me to Talhah and al-Zubayr on the Day of the Camel. He said: So I said to them, "Your brother sends you greetings and says to you: 'Have you found any injustice from me regarding a share, or favoritism in the spoils, or such and such?'" He said: So al-Zubayr said, "No, not in any of those two. But with fear comes the intensity of greed."
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبي جعفر عن أبيه عن علي بن حسين قال حدثني بن عثمان قال ارسلني علي إلى طلحة والزبير يوم الجمل قال فقلت لهما إن أخاكما يقرئكما السلام ويقول لكما هل وجدتما علي في حيف أو في استئثار في فيء أو في كذا قال فقال الزبير لا ولا في واحدة منهما ولكن مع الخوف شدة المطامع
