Hadith 24:65
Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Asim, who said: I never saw Abu Wa'il curse a beast at all, except for Al-Hajjaj one time. For he mentioned some of his deeds and said: "O Allah, feed Al-Hajjaj from *dari'* (a thorny plant), which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger." He said: Then he corrected himself afterward and said: "If that is more beloved to You." So I said: "Do you doubt regarding Al-Hajjaj?" He said: "And we count that as a sin."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن عاصم قال ما رأيت أبا وائل سب دابة قط إلا الحجاج مرة واحدة فإنه ذكر بعض صنيعه فقال اللهم أطعم الحجاج من ضريع لا يسمن ولا يغني من جوع قال ثم تداركها بعد فقال إن كان ذلك أحب إليك فقلت أتشك في الحجاج قال ونعد ذلك ذنبا
