Hadith 24:73
Ibn Idris narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Shahr ibn ‘Atiyyah, that Ibn Mikhnaf al-Azdi sat with ‘Ali. He said: So he said to him, "Recite." He recited Surah al-Baqarah, and he did not finish it until ‘Ali surpassed him. He said: So he sent him to Isfahan. He said: He took what he took, and he carried the remainder of the wealth to Mu’awiyah.
حدثنا بن إدريس عن الأعمش عن شهر بن عطية أن بن مخنف الأزدي جلس إلى علي قال فقال له اقرأ فقرأ سورة البقرة فما فرغ منها حتى سبق علي قال فبعثه إلى أصبهان قال فأخذ ما أخذ وحمل بقية المال إلى معاوية
