Hadith 24:77

Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Husayn, from Zayd ibn Wahb, who said: We passed by Abu Dharr at al-Rabadhah, so we asked him about his dwelling. He said: I was in al-Sham, and I recited this verse: "And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend them in the way of Allah." Mu'awiyah said: "It is only about the People of the Book." I said: "It is indeed about us and them." He said: So he wrote to Uthman, "Recall him." When I arrived, the people crowded around me as if they had not seen me before that. I complained about that to Uthman, and he said: "If you were to seclude yourself and be nearby." So I descended to this dwelling, and I will not abandon his command, even if they were to appoint an Abyssinian slave over me.
