Hadith 24:90
Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from al-Mughirah, from Qudamah ibn Ghiyath, who said: I saw Ali delivering a sermon. A person came to him and said: "O Commander of the Faithful, reach Bakr ibn Wa'il, for Banu Tamim has struck them at al-Kunasa." Ali said: "Hah," then turned back to his sermon. Then another came to him and said the same thing. He said: "Ah." Then a third or fourth time, he came and said: "Reach Bakr ibn Wa'il, for Banu Tamim has struck them; they are at al-Kunasa." He said: "Have you not told me the truth? The age of Bakr, O Shaddad! Reach Bakr ibn Wa'il and Banu Tamim and cast lots between them."
حدثنا أبو عوانة عن المغيرة عن قدامة بن غياث قال رأيت عليا يخطب فأتاه آت فقال يا أمير المؤمنين أدرك بكر بن وائل فقد ضربتها بنو تميم بالكناسة قال علي هاه ثم أقبل على خطبته ثم أتاه آخر فقال مثل ذلك فقال آه ثم أتاه الثالثة أو الرابعة فقال أدرك بكر بن وائل فقد ضربتها بنو تميم هي بالكناسة فقال ألا صدقتني سن بكر يا شداد أدرك بكر بن وائل وبني تميم فأقرع بينهم
