Hadith 24:95
Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Mu'tamir narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Sa'id: That some people were at the tent of 'Aisha, and 'Uthman passed by at that time in Makkah. Abu Sa'id said: There remained no one among them except that he cursed him or insulted him, except for me. And there was a man among them from the people of Kufa, and 'Uthman was bolder toward the Kufan than he was toward others. He said: "O Kufan, I desire to arrive in Medina," as if he were threatening him. It was said to him: "You should go to Talha." He said: So Talha went with him until he came to 'Uthman. 'Uthman said: "By Allah, I will surely flog you one hundred [lashes]." Talha said: "By Allah, you will not flog him one hundred [lashes] unless he is an adulterer." He said: "I will surely deprive you of your stipend." Talha said: "Indeed, Allah will provide for him."
