Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 16:1069

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from ‘Ikrimah, who said: "The image is only the head; so if it is cut off, there is no harm."
