Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 16:114

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ghundar narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-Hakam, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, from Thabit ibn Wadi'ah, who said: A dabb (lizard) was brought to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "A nation that was transformed [into this form], and Allah knows best."
