Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 16:118

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali bin Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from Yazid bin al-Asamm, who said: A bridegroom in Medina invited us, and he brought near to us thirteen dabb lizards, and some ate and some refrained. I met Ibn Abbas the next day and informed him, and the people around him spoke much until some of them said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I do not eat it, nor do I forbid it, nor do I permit it, nor do I prohibit it.'" Ibn Abbas said: "How evil is what you have said! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was only sent as one who permits and one who prohibits. While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was with Maymunah, and with him were al-Fadl bin Abbas, Khalid bin al-Walid, and another woman, a tray containing meat was brought near to them. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) intended to eat, Maymunah said to him: 'It is the meat of a dabb lizard.' So he withdrew his hand and said: 'I have never eaten this meat at all.' And he said to them: 'Eat.' So al-Fadl bin Abbas, Khalid bin al-Walid, and the woman ate from it, while Maymunah said: 'I will not eat except from something that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) eats from.'"
