Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from ‘Abd al-Karim, from ‘Ikrimah, who said: I asked Ibn ‘Abbas about the eel (al-jirrī), and he said: There is no harm in it. The Jews only prohibit it, while we eat it.
