Hadith 16:409

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from Safwan ibn ‘Abdullah, who said: Sa’d sought permission [to enter] upon ‘Amir, and beneath him were cushions of silk, so he ordered them and they were removed. When Sa’d entered, he entered while wearing a garment (mutraf) of silk (khazz). ‘Amir said to him: "You sought permission [to enter] upon me while beneath me were cushions of silk, so I ordered them and they were removed." Sa’d said to him: "You are an excellent man, if you are not among those of whom Allah said: 'You have exhausted your good things in your worldly life.' Indeed, that I should lie upon the embers of the Ghadha tree is more beloved to me than that I should lie upon them." He [‘Amir] said: "Then this [garment] upon you, half of it is silk and half of it is silk (khazz)." He [Sa’d] said: "Only the silk (khazz) touches my skin from it."
