Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, from al-Walid ibn Hisham, who said: I wrote to Muhammad ibn Sirin asking him about wearing *mulammaq* (garments with silk linings or embroidery) and silk during war. He said: He wrote back, "If they were more disliked than I used to dislike them, they would not be disliked during fighting when you are exposing yourself to martyrdom."
