Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 16:567

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Hasan ibn Salih, from Abu al-Jahhaf, he said: I asked Abu Ja’far about a chest I have in which there are figures. He said: Someone who saw Umar burning a garment that had a cross on it, [and] he would remove the cross from it, narrated to me.
