Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 16:964

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Musa ibn 'Uyaynah, from Aban ibn Salih, from al-Qa'qa' ibn Hakim, from Salma, the mother of Rafi', who said: Gabriel came seeking permission to enter upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, but he delayed. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, took his cloak and stood up to him while he was at the door. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "We have given you permission." He said: "Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image."
