Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Shu’bah, from Hammad, from Ibrahim, who said: There is no harm in an image (tamthal) on the ornamentation of a sword, and there is no harm in them on the ceiling of the house. What is disliked of them is only what is set up upright, meaning the image (surah).
