Hadith 33:1098

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from al-Hasan, that he recited: "And ask them about the town that was by the sea—when they transgressed in [the matter of] the Sabbath, when their fish came to them on the day of their Sabbath, appearing openly..." [al-A'raf: 163]. He said: There was a fish that Allah had forbidden to them on one day and made lawful for them on other than that. It would come to them on the day that was forbidden to them, as if it were [a woman in] labor, not shying away from anyone. So they began to intend [to catch it] and they held it, until they took it and ate it. By Allah, it was the most indigestible meal that a people ever ate. It left behind disgrace in the world and a more severe punishment in the Hereafter. And by Allah, the believer has a greater sanctity with Allah than a fish. But Allah has made the appointed time for the people the Hour, and the Hour is more grievous and more bitter.
