Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:1136

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Mis'ar, from 'Abd al-A'la al-Taymi, who said: Paradise and Hell have been given the sense of hearing from the children of Adam. So, when a man asks for Paradise, it says: "O Allah, admit him into me." And when he seeks refuge from Hell, it says: "O Allah, grant him refuge from me."
