Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:1203

Ishaq ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Abu Sinan, from Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, who said: "The angel comes to one of you every morning with a white scroll, so let him dictate goodness into it. When the sun rises, let him stand up for his needs. Then, when he prays the Asr, let him dictate goodness into it. For if he dictates goodness at the beginning of his scroll and at its end, it is hoped that it will expiate what is between them."
