Hadith 33:1303

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Sufyan ibn Husayn informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn Abd Allah, that Ibn Umar recited: "And whether you disclose what is in your souls or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it," and his eyes shed tears. His action reached Ibn Abbas, so he said: "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abd al-Rahman; he has done just as the companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) did when it was revealed." Then the verse that followed it abrogated it: "It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned."
