Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:1377

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, who said: "Uthman was appointed as Caliph, and their lower garments were nothing but striped cloths, and their upper garments were nothing but striped cloaks. One of them would say to his companion, 'My striped cloak is better than your striped cloak.'"
