Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:1414

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Abu al-Ashhab, from al-Hasan, who said: There was a man who would frequently visit the door of Umar. Umar said to him: "Go and learn the Book of Allah the Exalted." The man went away, and Umar lost track of him. Then he met him, and it was as if he was reproaching him. The man said: "I found in the Book of Allah that which made me have no need for the door of Umar."
