Hadith 33:1433
Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Ibrahim ibn Maysarah, who said: Abu Ayyub went on a military expedition to the city—he said: I said, "Constantinople?" He said, "Yes." He said: He passed by a storyteller who was telling stories and saying, "When a servant performs a deed at the beginning of the day, it is presented to his acquaintances among the people of the Hereafter at the end of the day. And when he performs a deed at the end of the day, it is presented to his acquaintances among the people of the Hereafter at the beginning of the day." He said: Abu Ayyub said, "Look at what you are saying." He said: He replied, "By Allah, it is just as I say." He said: Abu Ayyub said, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being disgraced before Ubadah ibn al-Samit and Sa'd ibn Ubadah by what I have done after them." He said: The storyteller said, "By Allah, Allah does not write His guardianship for a servant except that He covers his faults and praises him for his best deeds."
