Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Yunus ibn Ubayd informed us, he said: Al-Hasan narrated to us that two men from the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, one of them died a week before the other. They favored the one who died, and in their souls, he was better than the other. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "Did the other not remain after the first for a week, praying such and such prayers?" It was as if he favored the one who remained.
