'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Burayd, from Sulayman ibn Musa, who said: Do not learn for the sake of showing off, and do not seek understanding for the sake of showing off. And do not be a frequent laugher without cause for wonder, nor a frequent walker without proper conduct.
