Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 33:15

Muhammad ibn Abi Ubaydah narrated to us, from his father, from al-A’mash, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from Salim, who said: ‘Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary) said: “Verily, Musa (Moses) forbade you from adultery, and I forbid you from it. And I forbid you from speaking to yourselves about sin, for the likeness of that is like one who strikes a tree trunk; if it does not break it, it will surely hollow it out and weaken it.” Or he said: “Like smoke in a house; if it does not burn it, it will surely change its color and make it foul-smelling.”
