Hafs narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from Kardus al-Tha'labi, who said: It is written in the Torah: "Fear the precaution (tawaqqa)." "Indeed, precaution is through piety (taqwa). Show mercy, and you will be shown mercy. Repent, and it will be accepted from you."
